Everything you need to know about starting your journey at Anchor Point Therapy
The Logistics: Cost, Insurance, & Format
-
Sessions are $170 per 50-minute hour. I believe in transparency - there are no hidden fees, and you will always know the investment upfront.
-
As a Registered Social Worker (RSW), my services are covered by most extended health benefit plans in Ontario. I encourage you to check with your provider to see if "Social Work" is included in your coverage. I provide detailed receipts for you to submit for reimbursement.
-
I am a 100% virtual practice. This allows me to support women across all of Ontario from the comfort and privacy of their own homes - which is especially helpful for busy professionals and those navigating the postpartum period.
-
I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Because your time is held specifically for you, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice are subject to the full session fee.
The Experience: Sessions & Expectations
-
Think of our first session as a "landing." We won’t dive into deep trauma right away. Instead, we’ll talk about what is feeling heaviest for you right now, explore your goals, and ensure we feel like a good fit. My goal is for you to leave that first hour feeling heard and with a clear roadmap for our work together.
-
Individual sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients find the most momentum by meeting weekly or bi-weekly at the start. As you begin to feel more grounded and reach your goals, we can move to "maintenance" sessions (once a month or as needed). We will decide on a cadence together that fits your life and your healing pace.
-
This is a very common feeling, especially for high-achieving women. You don’t need to be in a total crisis to deserve support. If you feel "stuck," "anxious," or like you are constantly in survival mode, those are valid reasons to seek help. Therapy is about reclaiming your peace, not just managing a catastrophe.
-
Yes, virtual EMDR is highly effective and PHIPA-compliant. Many clients actually find they can process deeper because they are in their own "safe space" at home, which helps the nervous system feel more secure.
-
Please bring the baby! While I work with women across all life stages, I am 100% baby-friendly. Whether you are breastfeeding, soothing a fussy infant, or sitting in your car for a moment of peace, we work with your reality. There is no "perfect" environment needed for healing.
Scope of Practice
-
I specialize in supporting women and mothers navigating trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. To provide the highest quality of care, I do not work with:
Children or teenagers
Couples or families
Individuals currently in an active crisis requiring 24/7 inpatient care
Primary diagnoses of Eating Disorders or active Substance Use Disorders (though I am happy to provide referrals to specialists in these areas).
